Due to the increasing number of people suffering from walking disorders, physiotherapy is becoming the process of treating this dysfunction and helping people to recover their natural motor ability as much as possible. Due to the lack of therapists, rehabilitation robots aim to reduce their tasks, help patients recover their natural walking ability as much as possible, and promote self-rehabilitation. The present work reviewed the state of the art of lower limb rehabilitation robots and introduced their features, including structure, drive mode, control and safety precautions. Then, we discussed the problem of developing the current rehabilitation robots and the orientation towards the future.
